HISTORY OF AUSTIN, IN BASEBALL

September 9th, 2022, 6:30 pm at the Scott County Museum, 1050 S. Main St., Scottsburg.

History of Austin Baseball.

I.C. Morgan brought a professional baseball team to Austin that played for 45 years.

Speakers will be Curtis White, Don Campbell and Jimmy Hutton.

Hot dogs and popcorn will be served.

Donations accepted. 

PIGEON ROOST FAMILY & FRIENDS REUNION

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2022, NOON.  PITCH IN MEAL AND LOTS OF TIME TO VISIT AND TELL OLD STORIES ABOUT YOUR ANCESTORS. 

LOCATION:  PIGEON ROOST MONUMENT, SOUTH HIGHWAY 31.

DIRECTIONS DUE TO BRIDGE BEING OUT:  Location: (Road Closure) Hwy. 31, South of Scottsburg, BUT, road is closed just before Pigeon Roost Monument. If coming from the south, Hwy. 31 is open to Pigeon Roost. Bridge is out just north of it. Coming from the north, Take Hwy. 31, turn east (left) on highway 356 to Vienna, top of hill in Vienna, turn right on Underwood Road, travel to (first road on right off of Underwood Road) Radio Tower Road turn west (right) and travel back to highway 31. Turn south (left) and short trip to Pigeon Roost location.

All relatives and friends are invited to this event!

Bring your own place settings and chairs for your family members along with food for the pitch-in.

Nadine Harris is our first Museum Director, Jeff Harris’ widow and now lives in Texas. Jeff passed away in December and they had been planning a trip to return to IN for a visit. Please pass this information around and we will expect a large crowd of old friends to greet Nadine. Light refreshments will be served. Plan to come and visit.
